Getting to know other people interested in the mesoamerican (especialy the Maya) people is one of the biggest reasons I have started this forum.
Looked all over with no luck in regards to finding a forum/discussion board that is shareing or learning about Mayan glyphs. Even looked for colleges offering distance, video, and or web courses for learning about the Maya and the Mayan glyphs online. As a result I am presently journaling my progress towards putting together a home course useing Brian Stross's classes at the University of Texas as sort of a structure or guide for learning at home. I am journaling my progress within my website located at "George's Progressive Journal for Learning Mayan Glyphs.
This is where I am at with learning a little about the Maya and their glyphs.
So if you came upon this forum by means other than through my website, you will find a lot of good information there.
What I am missing is the opportunity to learn as I go with others who may be experiencing the same.
Our age where we come from, and or experience related to the people of Central America is not a prerequisite to participating here. Just the desire to learn. For me, Idealy, to eventualy adapt a life routine relvolving around the Maya traditions and their spiritual cyclic calendar.
Simply, I hope this board will bring others like myself together that we might learn together.
The Calendar is a very important subject. I just know there are others out there who might appreciate this type of learning format.
If you stop in and this forum appears to not have a lot of activity, please just book mark us and keep comming back.
